Proofreading:

rights your wrongs by fine-tuning punctuation, spelling, and formatting.

How Does it work?

Proofreading is a final, quality-assurance step, making sure you’re your manuscript is as close to perfect as possible. We want readers to be focused on your story, and not on missing words, misspelled words, or misused words (so many words!). We also don’t want readers distracted by poor punctuation or formatting; nothing pulls a reader out of a story faster than a question mark where they expected an exclamation.

Your manuscript will be returned to you with proofreading edits applied via the Track Changes feature of Microsoft Word. All edits will adhere to The Chicago Manual of Style (17th ed.); application of Australian or United Kingdom style guides available upon request.

What are your rates?

Some manuscripts require more editing than others, often based on author experience and background. That’s ok! During our initial planning meeting, we’ll spend time reviewing up to five pages of your writing to determine how much editing your manuscript needs. Rates are scaled to reflect the time required for different levels of support.

Proofreading starts at $0.016 per word
